4th and Goal Slots
Are you ready for some football? Play 4th and Goal and experience an abundance of bonus features and generous base game payouts. You also have the option of increasing the game RTP by activating “Thrill Mode.”
The game grid of 5 reels and 3 rows is set against a football field backdrop with the audience cheering on in the distance. Before we get into our experience playing this football slot, here are the basic game details.
- Game Developer: Arrow’s Edge
- Game Type: 5-reel bonus slot with three progressive jackpots
- Game Theme: Sports, American Football

Choose the Game RTP
If you’re playing normally, the game’s return-to-player percentage is 93%. It’s not that great, but you can turn Thrill Mode on and increase it to 96%. This does, however, double your get. If you’ve set the 30-cent minimum bet, it increases to 60 cents.
The Paytable
Most of the symbols in 4th and Goal slots are higher paying symbols that pay prizes with two or more matching symbols. The Poker symbols require three or more matches.
- 10 and Jack – 5, 15, and 100x
- Queen and King – 10, 40, and 100x
- Ace – 15, 30, and 150x
- Player 54 – 4, 30, 50, and 300x
- Player 79 – 4, 40, 80, and 400x
- Player 80 – 5, 40, 100, or 500x
- Agent – 10, 50, 200, or 1,000x
There’s one more player with no value of his own. He is a Wild and helps form winning combinations.
How the Two Bonus Features Work
Three or more Free Spins Cheerleader symbols lead to the free spins bonus round. Win 10, 15, 20 free spins. We won 10 free spins for a total prize of $3.80 in the free spins round, so it’s a worthwhile bonus.
Three Bonus Quarterback symbols trigger the other bonus feature. Select your play to get started. You have two Run options or two Pass options. Decide which option is best to get your team the winning goal. Win a prize based on whether the touchdown is successful or not. Ours failed, but we still won 69 cents. If it wins, you go to another bonus round for the Extra Point or additional plays. If your Extra Point kick or running/passing play is successful again, you win additional cash.
Our Experience
Because our slot game reviews focus on our experience playing it, we played 10 rounds with Thrill Mode turned on and another 10 with it turned off. We stuck to the minimum bet of 30 cents and 60 cents. Here’s what we experienced. We started with Thrill Mode turned on.
- 1st spin - $1.20
- 8th spin - $1
We tried again with Thrill Mode turned off.
- 1st spin – 68 cents
- 2nd spin – $2
- 3rd spin – 20 cents
- 4th spin – 20 cents
- 6th spin – 40 cents
- 9th spin – 52 cents
- 10th spin – $1.02
We actually found the game to be more rewarding with Thrill Mode turned off. We didn’t trigger either of the bonus features either way though there were several spins where we had two Bonus or Free Spins symbols and missed out on a third.
Things to Keep in Mind
There are three progressive jackpots in 4th and Goal: Mini, Major, and Mega. Expect the Mini Jackpot to be awarded when it’s between $2,000 to $5,000. The Major Jackpot is usually in the $10,000 range when a winner is randomly selected. The Mega Jackpot is normally in the $40,000 to $45,000 range.
As it’s reaching one of those ranges, the odds of a winner being selected are greater, so it’s a good way to decide how long to play the game. Our tip is to stick to the minimum bet and make your funds last longer as you play the football slot.
